Working Moms : Honoring the Quiet Strength Behind It All

Today we are going to take a moment to honor the Working Moms — a day that may not show up on every calendar, but it should. Because if there’s anyone who deserves a sacred pause and a moment to be seen, it’s you.

To all the moms doing it all:

The ones scheduling appointments during lunch breaks, answering emails with a baby on their hip, meal prepping between Zoom calls, or attending a spouse’s deployment brief after a long shift — this day is for you.

But more than anything, we believe this day is not just for celebrating your labor — it’s for reminding you that you are more than what you do.

At Lotus River Wellness, we honor the modern mother as both a giver and a being. We see you as the bridge between generations, the nervous system of your household, and often, the person who holds everyone else’s healing before touching your own.

Yoga, at its core, is about integration. Not escape. Not perfection. But presence.

So on Working Moms Day, we invite you to see yoga not as another task to squeeze in — but as the one thing that might bring you back to you.

💭 Why Yoga Matters for Working Moms

Modern motherhood — especially within military and SOF families — has created a breed of high-functioning women who are praised for how much they can handle.

But here’s the truth yoga reveals:

  • Doing it all is not the goal.

  • Your worth is not measured in productivity.

  • You can work, care, lead, love, and still claim space to breathe.

Yoga provides a sacred pause. A return to the breath. A reminder that your body is more than a vehicle of output — it’s a temple of wisdom, intuition, and power.

For working moms, yoga isn't just a practice. It's a lifeline. It's a way to:

  • Reconnect with the body after a day of mental load

  • Release the stories of "not doing enough"

  • Tap into patience and presence when everyone needs something from you

  • Remember your own joy and wholeness

  • Regulate your nervous system so your kids experience a more grounded version of you

🌿 What If Working Moms Were Given a Different Kind of Gift?

Not a mug. Not a candle. Not another affirmation that tells you you're a superhero (you are — but that's not the point).

What if the gift was an invitation to pause?

To stretch. To breathe. To remember who you are when you’re not in service to everyone else?

Our Yoga Teacher Training Program was created for that exact reason. It’s not just for people who want to teach in studios (though you absolutely can). It’s for the woman ready to reclaim her inner world — to nourish her nervous system, access healing tools, and finally put herself on the list.

We see so many of our YTT students — military spouses, moms, teachers, nurses, caregivers — go through this training not to add something more to their resume, but to restore something lost within.

✨ This Is Your Permission Slip

  • You don’t have to “earn” rest.

  • You don’t have to wait until the kids are grown.

  • You don’t have to be a certain size, shape, or schedule to begin.

All you need is the willingness to say, “This matters. I matter.”

On this Working Moms Day, let this be more than a footnote in your planner. Let it be the turning point.

We’re ready when you are.

With reverence for all you hold,

Lotus River Wellness
