MyCAA and GI Bill Funding Policy

MyCAA & GI Bill Funding Policy

Federal Education Benefit Requirements & Completion Terms

Lotus River Wellness (LRW) supports eligible military spouses in utilizing approved federal education benefits. Because MyCAA and GI Bill programs are governed by federal regulations, additional requirements apply when students elect to use these funding sources.

This policy outlines funding eligibility, completion timelines, financial responsibility, and non-combination rules.

LRW is committed to transparency and responsible stewardship of federal education benefits.

1.  Non-Combination of Federal Benefits

Students must elect one (1) funding pathway for the 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training (YTT):

Federal education benefits may not be combined for the same program enrollment.

  • MyCAA Funding, or

  • GI Bill Reimbursement

If a student uses MyCAA funding for the 200-Hour YTT, they may not later seek GI Bill reimbursement for the same tuition charges.

Likewise, students intending to pursue GI Bill reimbursement may not apply MyCAA funding to that same enrollment.

Students remain eligible to enroll in separate, additional MyCAA-approved programs offered by LRW, provided those programs are individually approved within their MyCAA Education & Training Plan.

2.  MyCAA Funding Requirements

Students electing MyCAA funding must:

  • Maintain an active and eligible MyCAA account in good standing

  • Obtain approval of their Education & Training Plan (ETP) prior to funding requests

  • Submit funding requests within MyCAA-required deadlines

  • Monitor their MyCAA portal for approvals, denials, or additional documentation requests

Enrollment at LRW does not guarantee MyCAA approval.

MyCAA funding limits, fiscal caps, and policy changes are determined solely by Military OneSource and may change without notice. LRW is not responsible for funding shortfalls, delays, denials, or policy updates issued by MyCAA.

Any tuition amount not covered by MyCAA remains the student’s financial responsibility.

3.  MyCAA Completion Timeline

Students using MyCAA funding for the 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training must complete all program requirements within six (6) months of the official cohort start date.

The official start date is defined as the cohort start date listed in the student’s Enrollment Agreement.

Program requirements include:

  • All coursework modules

  • Quizzes and assignments

  • Final examination

  • Required teaching hours

  • All graduation documentation

This six-month completion window applies regardless of LRW’s standard one-year access policy.

Failure to complete the program within six months while using MyCAA funding will result in:

  • A Late Completion Fee, and/or

  • A Transfer Fee to a future cohort

Fees will be assessed in accordance with the Cancellation & Transfer Policy and Payment Plan Agreement.

Program access may be suspended upon expiration of the six-month completion window until applicable late or transfer fees are resolved.

4.  GI Bill Reimbursement Pathway

Students who intend to pursue GI Bill reimbursement (where eligible) are granted a twelve (12) month completion period from their official start date.

Upon full program completion, LRW will provide required documentation necessary for the student to submit reimbursement paperwork to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

It is the student’s responsibility to:

  • Confirm GI Bill eligibility directly with the VA

  • Verify that the LRW program qualifies under their benefit type

  • Submit reimbursement documentation within VA deadlines

LRW does not guarantee reimbursement approval.

5.  Financial Responsibility

Students remain financially responsible for:

  • Any tuition not covered by MyCAA

  • Any denied or delayed funding

  • Any late completion or transfer fees

  • Any unpaid balances resulting from federal funding limitations

Failure of federal funding approval does not void the Enrollment Agreement or Payment Plan obligations.

6.  Election & Acknowledgment of Funding Pathway

By enrolling and selecting a funding method, the student acknowledges and agrees:

  • Federal education benefits cannot be combined for the same program

  • They are electing either MyCAA funding or GI Bill reimbursement

  • They accept the associated completion timeline for the selected pathway

  • They understand funding approvals are determined by the issuing federal agency

  • They accept full financial responsibility for any unpaid balance

Once MyCAA funding has been disbursed, the funding pathway is final and cannot be converted to a GI Bill reimbursement enrollment.
